Friends, I've brought you together here again because it's 4pm here in Toronto and we're still miles away from reaching our goal for records shared today. There have been some heroic contributions already, and you can be sure that we will continue to welcome contributions after today. But please...
I know that many of you on the east coast of the American continent are finishing up your workday and will now be heading home to put on some track pants and drink from your collection of squirrel decanters.
But won't you please consider that there are child wookies being held captive out there RIGHT NOW? Or won't you at least accept that there are cats being dressed up as child wookies? Both of these scenarios should trouble you and make you realize that while it may be okay to turn the carcasses of little creatures into kitschy decanters, it is terrible that we are subjecting these li'l buddies to such living shame while we sit around with heaps of interesting records being unshared.
my main hard drive is at my studio, so i had to sift through serato to find record day appropriate tunes i ripped from wax. sorry it doesnt fit the guidelines, but theres some good soul, psych and rando rap for youse n dem:
Bappi Lahiri bollywood soundtrack from 1984. Its a fun listen - includes a blatant Billie Jean knock-off and Come Closer, which has been sampled a few times i think. Hope you enjoy and thanks to everyone who has already uploaded and posted.

So this is a selection ranging from entry-level classics to a few obscure and hard-to-find nuggets, all ripped from da h'ariginal vinyl with an audiophile needle and a roland soundcard through my vestax mixer, so sound quality should be play-out-able. I nabbed some of the images from drumtrip.co.uk which is a great resource for those wishing to investigate Jungle further - big up Law!
Adam F - Circles (Section 5, 1995)
Bob-James sampling anthem, this cross-over hit was inescapable for much of the late '90s. Adam F is the son of Alvin Stardust!
Adam F - Metropolis (Doc Scott remix) (EMI, 1997)
Album-only remix from Doc Scott that signaled a transition towards "darkness" and Drum'n'Bass. The intricate drum programming is still present, so I classify this as jungle.
Badman - war for '94 (IQ Records, 1994)
Darkest Light sample, gated snares, booming subs and some amens. Simple in presentation but undoubtedly complicated in practice. A big choon on the scene.
DJ Crystl - meditation (Dee Jay Recordings, 1993)
Euphoric, and at the time, most definitely futuristic. While Badman (above) manipulated amens for a sense of aggressive, explosion-and-compression energy, these amens pound away into crescendos of space and release. The influence of hands-in-the-air-at-sunrise raves is strong.
Firefox & 4Tree - warning (powder mix) (Philly Blunt Records, 1994)
The reggae influence in jungle is not always overt, but for me one of the highlights of this track is the massive half-time Junior Tucker sample that lends the track it's name. The Roni Size remix is also excellent... keep 'em hungry.
Doc Scott - unofficial ghost (Metalheadz, 1996)
This is from the excellent comp Platinum Breakz and another Doc Scott track that sits on the cusp between the rough'and'ready bedroom producer aesthetic that jungle was rooted in, and the polished and clinical sound of Drum'n'Bass. First heard this in a club and was chuffed that the track had a vocal refrain for the guy at Massive Records (RIP) to identify for me the next morning.
Foul Play - vice (Moving Shadow, 1996)
This track is an excellent demonstration of how to build momentum using different breaks from the Jungle producer's sound palette. The apex of this journey is naturally dominated by pounding amens.
Funky Technicians - airtight (Legend Records, 1996)
This long, atmospheric beauty was produced by the Funky Technicians aka Q-Project & Spinback who would later be known in D'n'B circles as Total Science.
Oblivion - night windows (Street Beats, 1995)
And this darker piece was produced by Oblivion who would be better known as Source Direct!
Peshay - piano tune (Good Looking Records, 1995)
Lead in, introduction of different elements, breakdown, ensemble. The choral voices and crescendos lend a religious feel to the track, I think I might have had some outer-body experiences to it.
Studio Pressure - first sequence (Photek 1994)
Studio Pressure aka Photek is one of my very favourite producers - confusingly he started his own label called Photek (or PTK) before using that name for one of his many production monikers. Photek demonstrated total mastery of his craft for much of the '90s, and this early single is an excellent example of his unmistakable sound. Many others have emulated his precision, none for me have bettered him.
T-Power vs MK Ultra - mutant jazz (S.O.U.R. 1994-95)
This release had a promo in '94 but you had to wait until '95 for the full version - and well worth it with such a great sleeve design. An excellent track that blends light euphoric sounds with a 'hoover' sub-bass that was revolutionary for the scene and was quickly adopted by many other producers.
I'm still working my way through the thread but a quick thanks to LoopDreams for The Supreme Jubilees. I'm feeling the jazz too but It'll All Be Over was exactly what I needed this weekend and has been on repeat, particularly the slower cuts like Standing In The Need Of A Prayer, and the title track slays.

This was my favorite pick up form a recent travel to Istanbul. Turkish deep/modern soul i guess? Anyway i absolutly love this. The drums sound a bit muffled on my recording, thats because i can only record mono right now. They SLAM on the original 7".
I usually have a hard time to listen to anything with a harmonica in it, but this is INSANE!!! island funk greatly influenced by Fela and the likes i guess. Its "The Outfits" on WIRL if you have a hard time reading it.
This one needs no introduction and a lot of you guys probably know it, but i thought a nice wav rip of it is still worthwhile and maybe i can hip some younger cats on to this as it truly is one of the best soul cuts of all time IMHO.
