It's rainy, windy and grey in my part of the world at the moment...this track fits the vibe perfectly.

Oh yeah...'tis a solid one, for sure. I forgot how solid the beats were on that LP. Years ago, I remember hearing that album sounded the way it did because copyright/sampling laws (whatever the fuck they are called) got way more aggressive between the Black Sunday LP and the Temples of Boom LP...which resulted in DJ Muggs going more obscure with his sample selection and starting to make his own sounds as well...I never followed up on that idea to see if it was legit but you can certainly hear a huge difference from all his production work pre Temples of Boom.
On another note, this one is an obvious pick. Funny that I haven't heard this one in probably 5+ years and I'm still kinda sick of it....that's my fault for listening to it too much over the years, I suppose:
that ain't a vibraphone son
Ahhh shit! You're right! My bad. Wow...I never realized it was a kalimba until your comment forced me to do mine knowledge...now that I listen to it, it makes so much sense...it's definitely the sound of being plucked and not hit with a mallet, etc etc...
Thanks, man.
Vibraphone??
:shit_yeah:
Ha, goddammit...this error of mine is going to continue to be pointed out. Oh well, I suppose I deserve it.
See previous poasts...

this is mine, definitely!
Here are two joints that come to mind:

Big Stacks from Kakalak
Vibra? or Xylo or .....?
God, I love that cut...it might be Marimba. But I titled this thread poorly...I should've put Xylo/Vibes/Marimba/anything-in-that-family...
Ive always preferred the Remix over the OG
Eric Dolphy's "Straight Up And Down" w/ Bobby Hutcherson, btw.
Shit is real

Sorry, that's a synthesizer, not a vibraphone.
slept on BX classique #BATMON
but my jam is the outro where Ski muted the drums and filtered the shit out of the sample
