This is a guy I know only from the back of lp covers. (And the front of his solo lp cover.)
He was the producer on endless great records.
I am not a big British blues fan, but the best lps he produced.
Also all (or many) of the Bloodstone and Olympic Runners lps.
Plus he was a guy who respected, and knew how to record, drums, thus many of his productions have great drum breaks.
What say you?

A weak spot is on the Jellybread 'First Slice' LP; He captured what is in all probability the worst-played drum break of all time. No mean feat.
Vernon productions do have breaks.
Pretty sure he has a solo LP with a break. I'll have to look.
One I've only seen on discogs, and is likely UK only.
The other has a US press, and I recall being underwhelmed.
So who is he?
How did he get his start?
Where is he now?
What else is good.
Lp covers, Olympic Runners, Chicken Shack, Eddie Boyd, Johnny Almond, Fleetwood Mac, Please (Pinoy band) Christine Perfect.
Mike Vernon : Moments of Madness on Sire Records
Several drum breaks and some good players. But, plug your ears when Mike starts singing. I'm sure his production success allowed him to make this one solo LP.
The Olympic Runners are straight fire
That is all.
Anyway, I first put a face to the name a few years ago when I saw Mike Vernon in a documentary about Peter Green called 'Man of the World'. Great BBC doc and he came across so well.
I never got round to listening to that Eddie Boyd album, any good?
For whatever reason, you can't link pics from Discogs.
