In no particular order, here's my guess for final 5
Stark Reality
Off The Wall
Bob James 2
My People Hold On
East of Underground
This^.. except i can't see BJ2 there, even though the bells were discussed at length on here
Personally I hope EoU is not in the top10 though i wouldn't be surprised at all.

Del Jones "Court Is Closed" should be in the top 100
for a minute I was hoping to see some Ice Cube as we progressed down this list, but realize that at this point there are too many other heavy hitters to expect anything to appear from O'Shea Jackson (bar perhaps NWA, but not expecting that either).
So i'd just like to go on record as to how much I still very much love Death Certificate (and to a lesser extent Amerikkka's), and i am pretty damn certain that of all the albums in the world, i probably have listened to Death Certificate the most. I know there are arguably "better" albums perhaps but this LP still resonates as such a great rap album, that i am kinda bummed it didn't make the top 100 (or to that point, never was really discussed on the board to any great length that i can recall).
Death Certificate is def a "stranded on an island" album for me. Political as all be all (granted over time a bit on the racialist side), amazing production and still holds up as a "concept" album with the whole Death/Life sides. Also, fun fact - i learned about the "Hatfield's and McCoys" though this album.
looking forward to finding out what makes the top 10 - I am sure it won't disappoint..
My list in order based on suggestions made earlier in the thread.
1. Stark Reality "Discovers Hoagy Charmichael's Music Shop"
2. Bob James "Two"
3. Michael Jackson Off the Wall
4. Dilla Donuts
5. James Brown Payback
6. A Tribe Called Quest "Midnight Marauders"
7. Eddie Kendricks - People Hold On
8. Donny Hathaway Live
9. Wu-Tang "Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers)"
10. Marvin Gaye "What's Going On"
I think the amount of chatter a record generates on this forum is the main factor that determines it's position.

Kool list, but Hathaway Live....??? I heard cats in hurr talk about it but not in the same vein as the others on your list.

Cosine on your top 4, in that order, too. I agree with the last 6 as well, but not sold on the order presented. Can't wait to see #10 and curious to see if any shockers show up on the list.

Agreed. But I needed 10 and there is no Hathaway on the list yet.

I strongly agree. Great story telling on My Summer Vacation and Bird in the Hand, and Color Blind is probably one of the best rap songs of all time.
Mea Culpa: I was away for a while and dreamin about what I wanted to hear up in here and somebody up and started the chatter before me, thought police set me straight.
But yeah, I know he gets some love here but I can't remember if we could vote for him: I want to see a Gil Scott Heron album: either pieces of a man or first minute of a new day, or whatever. But that's not a prediction, just a want.
As far as predictions go: Hoagy, What's Going On, People Hold On, Dilla, Wu, all seem like solid guesses.
As Classic and ubiquitous as What's Goin' On is, I dont see it as a top 10 album.
And any dudes who voted on it need to point out the many SS threads dissecting this album.
Many of these albums already on the list have been singled out, and I only recall LGO vs. Whats Goin On Thread, or WGO within other threads.
Here My Dear is the Marvin Gaye SS album.
WGO is something you should gave already owned before you came here. Some real Big Chill shit.

Cortex belongs in the top 100, imo, but not in the top 10. And I absolutely LOVE Cortex. I believe What's Going On" will be a top 10.

I think Verocai took the brazilian spot on the list.
If Jorge Ben makes it into the top 10 my guess is on For??a Bruta.
Is there any Punk, Thrash, Hardcore on the list?

Of course not. And I wouldn't expect there to be. I was just kidding.
If there was, though, I'd expect Bad Brains to be there.
Could also use some Thin Lizzy, but that's a different story.

I want to see what I voted for.
More than one that is headed for the top ten I am sure.

I stand corrected.. though i doubt a majority of the votes were for "Bob James 2"
Like Laserwolf, I'd love to see what I voted for :eyeball:
Donuts is cool and all but id still rather listen to fantastic vol 2 anyday
