RIP to a master. TomO, can you share some stories?
A guy on reddit /r/vinyl is the room-mate of Don Blackman's kid and is looking for a copy to give to his son as he doesn't have one.

Anyone got any doubles?
RIP
Don Blackman was one of the first sort-of classic digger funk albums that i got my hands on, and used to jam all the time. i played a cut from it every few weeks on my college radio show my sophomore year.
anyone listened to his 2002 album? not the same of course, but it's got some jams: http://open.spotify.com/track/402Xe8jV8J4HvcjR3MqDdI
"Donald Blackman made his transition early this morning. He was a friend, a mentor and one of the craziest, zaniest, most beautiful cats any of us have ever known.
And one hell of a musician.
He was one of the leaders of the Jamaica, Queens music scene in the seventies and eighties. A lot of us learned from him...Omar Hakim, Bernard Wright, myself...he taught us all. Gonna listen to the "Don Blackman" album for the rest of the week. If you don't have it, you're missing out.
R.I.P. Donald."
