"Musical Massage" LP by Leon Ware Appreciation

Hey 'Strut Brothers and Sisters,

I don't know if Leon Ware's "Musical Massage" LP has received shine on here, but I just have to give it some props. I listened to the album on Sunday evening after not doing so for a very long time. The LP is a master work of silky soul, including slick upbeat numbers and velvety smooth ballads. Since Ware was a major force behind Marvin Gaye's "I Want You" LP (as a writer and producer), it stands to reason that his own work would be top-notch. If you don't have this LP, I suggest that you grab it, pour your favorite cocktail, tap your partner/spouse on the shoulder ;-), and drink in its lush beauty. Enjoy!!!

    Sorry Stacks, I recall this being (at best) unremarkable, (uncharitably) landfill funky soul, and (at worst) borderline offensive in its utter tepidity and banality.

    So I gave it to a charity shop and never once regretted that move.

    File me under 'don't party'.

    The woman on the cover is Azizi Johari, former actress and Playboy Playmate of the Month (6/75). Damn fine looking woman.

    i wish the r&b 'model' type cover would come back in vogue. i can't even remember the last time i've seen that on a modern release

    Lol that record is worth at most $20 US and that would be promo mint copy because it has a naked chick on the cover. Warm bathwater soul if that's your thing.
    Now the Education of Sonny Carson ST is an entirely different story
