Violin and Cello solos

I'm looking for violin and cello soloists. What is good?

    Not virtuosi stuff, but my go-to violin & cello LP is 'violin Vertigo' by Armando Sciascia. Massed strings and moody beats for days.

    A favoured individual track is Jean-Luc Ponty with 'In the Fast Lane' from his 'Storytelling' set, fusing jazzy and processed violin with a 90s subdued house vibe.

    Cellists: du Pre, Rostropovich, Wispelwey, Casals, Fournier, Gendron... and Yo Yo Ma if you want pyrotechnics and technical brilliance. Wouldn't know where to start with classical violinists, there are so many.

    Ponty is the only violin stuff I have. Not yet bought the horses and carriage required to enter the Classical lane properly.
