Thanks, I gripped that Eldridge Holmes ... same seller had a single I really want and I grabbed but am nervous about condition, "Fire Lighter" by the Men from Macon - listed as VG and I am worried but it's a really hard record to find in my experience, and a totally killer soul track with a rock guitar sound.

Yeah, that Men From Macon was my first "raer" 45 field find way back in the last century. Good record. Don't sweat his gradings...he is an old school dealer (still does the mail-in auctions as well a couple times a year. I get his catalogs). My copy is probably VG- by his standards and it plays nice and loud.

yeah it seems to have come down some, maybe some quantity was found - but damn it sure is a good buy at >$20. the label alone is worth $20!

I think I paid $50 for mine around 7 years ago.

a zoom-in on the label pic shows it to be a Capitol subsidiary.

and actually, I just pulled out the Oxford Watchband 45 below from my recent finds post and it is the same Hand label, same Capitol distro markings. Funny, I hadn't looked that closely when I bought it and thought the custom sleeve was a band creation, but it seems like it had major label money behind it. So that makes 2 interesting psych records on Hand. Would be curious to see a full release list myself:

Hmm, maybe it was a farm label for Capitol? I was looking into the Oxford Watchband 45 and I found an interview with one of the members. He talks about how they were signed by Capitol but there's no mention of Hand.
