My good ladyfriend D*wn will be out there a couple days in late October. Are there any spots you can recommend? She's not like us, so I don't need spots for strictly raer, but if there are spots that sell new & old records & CD's she would dig that. Clothes and/or sneaker spots, too. Or anything else you might suggest. Thanks in advance!Herm

  • Plan 9 on West Carey St. is a good call, and she can shop round that area for gear (clothes, shoes, whatever) as well.

  • swim in james river park and go to the nice movie theater on the same block as plan9

yeah, tell her to go to carytown and do a little shopping in general. hit me on the pm if you need directions or whatever.

end of october? hmmm, there might be some halloween festivities. richmond has a lot of cool outdoorsy type of stuff to do, but not in late october.

we have a few museums if she is in to that, and several art galleries.

does she like to drink? richmonders do know how to do one thing, and that is drink. if she is looking for some bars to visit, hit me up for that as well. i can direct her to several good restaurants depending on her tastes. let me know.

  • Poe film fest at the Byrd Theater the weekend of the 29th. Best movie theater I have ever been to, and the tickets are really cheap.
