I'm thinking about changing providers, really the only thing that's deterring me is if I have to change my phone number. I heard that they were going to start transferring numbers from different providers, but I'm not sure if this is a reality yet. Anyone know the deal?

    You can now keep your phone number no matter what provider. At least, I've kept mine after switching from Sprint to Verizon.

    you should be able to transfer your number from provider to provider with no problem. be sure to transfer within your billing cycle so you don't pay for a month that you don't use
