Hurricane Fever (mass hysteria related)

So, there's a hurricane (Rita) set to hit Houston sometime this weekend. So far she's just a category 2 spinning of the coasts of Florida and Cuba, yet there are evacuations already happening all along the Texas coast. I just got an email from my wife that all the grocery stores around her work area are COMPLETELY out of bottled water. Folks around the job are taking off of work early in order to beat out the rush to buy batteries and water. One guy had his wife come to work to pick up his Ford Excursion (bigger than his wife's Dodge Durango) so that she could fill it up with supplies. The town of Anahuac, Tx has completely shut down and almost all residents have left town.I'm not saying that we should take gulf coast hurricanes lightly, but some of these people are going overboard.
