i can upload a track if you want. it might take a while though, i'm in the process of moving and my shit's all packed up. but I would reccomend getting the first two doug carn albums on black jazz (infant eyes and spirit of the new land) first. they're much better in my opinion (but less "funky").

oh cool, thanks but I just copped it. Im not usually a fan of jazz, but i wanted to try it out. It was cheap ...

  • I personally think, while not a bad album, it isn't as strong as Adam's Apple or Spirit of the New Land. However, I think Infant Eyes is a pretty dull album and doesn't deserve the status it is accorded, so perhaps this can help place my opinion.

  • revelation is the best IMO. "revelation" is impeccable
    followed by adams apple.

i dont f with the other two all that much

    word!

  • doug carn- revelation is a good style of jazz that nonjazzers would love. in some ways the strength and phrasing of jean carn's voice could make the tune "revelation" almost be considered a heady r&b tune.

    btw-
are there any versions of this song out there??

why is it so bad or suspect to have personal preferences about certain types of jazz?

i dont discount what jazz has done, or what role it played, or the contributions it has made to music as a whole. But I just dont enjoy listening to jazz all that much. No big deal.

i think this suspect graemlin is kind of

i mean just cause i don't like a certain type of music i'm suspect. like everybody has to have the same taste in music. that would be hella boring.

Here's reviews of all of Doug Carn's work on Black Jazz. I think I liked Adams Apple the best.
