good relief organizations?

I am organizing a fundraiser but am not sure which charity to raise funds for. I know the Red Cross, obviously. Anyone know of any other organizations that could really put some funds to good use? Habitat for Humanity? Whats good?

www.networkforgood.org offers a large selection of various charities with not too much info on them

however you can check www.give.org for more info on what the various charities actually provide
