The last time I was in New Orleans I was on the hunt for this record. I didn't find a copy when there but the the following week I bought a record collection and came across a copy in it. It's hard filed now.
One of my first gateways to New Orleans music. The cover art of "Gris Gris" is one of my favorites. I found "Desitively Bonnaroo" this weekend which has "Stealin'" (great George Porter bassline!) and this:
One of my favorite Dr John related videos of all time - here with Earl King, the Meters, Professor Longhair... I remember reading that he was a bit of a guitar prodigy as well but his left ring finger almost got shot off in a bar fight after a show when he was young, and after his hand recovered he had to focus on piano. But here he is on guitar with Etta James
