Man, this has just reminded me to look back through Solid Steel - every time I come across it (last I remember it was Steinski of Payoff Mix fame doing a whole intricate mix for it etc.) it seems like the best-put-together weekly music show ever, just like, the kind of mixes people would buy on a CD, but for multiple hours and every week. Super detailed, high effort stuff.

That, plus Odelay (and Mellow Gold and Stereopathetic Soulmanure) being particularly formative for me as a youngun and it's catnip. I've moved on hugely and haven't listened to Beck in years, but I know every sample and breath on that album, it's really cool to hear it deconstructed. 20 years. Damn! This must be what old dudes feel when they hear old dude music. Crustiness is coming for all of us.
