Hello vinyl lovers, Me and my friend Nick have just opened a new record shop in Nottingham called Plates. We are here to cater for the thriving music scene in Nottingham and to create a relaxed fun environment for people to come and enjoy music.
Since the closure of Selectadisc in 2009 which was Nottingham's premier vinyl specialist there has been a lack of record shops in the area that have a specialist selection of underground dance music as-well as stocking all other genres and assorted oddities from around the world. Seeing this gap we decided to make a go of it and so far the response has been very positive with everyone who has come down telling us how much a shop has been needed since the closure of sleccy. A big thanks to all those people who have come down and bought records or even just had a browse of the shelves, you make Plates what it is...Big up.
If you want to check us out go to www.platesrecords.co.uk find us on facebook or come down to the shop @ Plates Records, The Irish Centre, 2-4 Wilford street, Nottingham.
Thanks for keeping vinyl alive, Ralph Jones, Plates Records
