Storing Records in a Dry Climate

been a damn cold, dry winter in these parts and it is taking its toll on my records. some spines are cracking and if records are not put back into plastic within a couple of hours the sleeves start to bow. how do those in dry climates preserve their records properly absent a fully climate controlled environment?

will a humidifier do the trick? if so, do i need a bigger sized one?

any advice would be appreciated.

Get a humidifier. That's also good for your health. I bought one when we lived in NYC but wasn't too happy with it (Air-O-Swiss) so I can't give you much advice as to what type to get other than don't get one of those. I'd probably invest in something big with a large tank or even go all the way and get one that attaches to your air duct and water system so you can skip re-filling altogether.
