There is a website I need to use for research that is currently "compromised". Questions:
-Will the wayback machine results be compromised too?
-Will they be compromised from the date the site was hacked onward?
-Is what is captured by the wayback machine random or as sequential as possible?

- just type in the url and see what comes up.
You could also check google cached results. Google the url and click the little green triangle to look at the cache results, or google within the site using "site:domian name 'search term'" like so - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:soulstrut.com+thenon&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB542GB542&oq=site:soulstrut.com+thenon&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.16307j0j8&sourceid=chrome&espvd=210&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8
When you say it's "compromised", do you mean you're getting one of those warnings about malware etc when visiting it? Cause you can just ignore those and risk it if you've got decent antivirus software.
Yeah one of those warnings when googling it. I just got this comp and don't want any issues.
Your security when visiting a site that has been "compromised" depends on what type of machine you are rockin'. If you are running Windows run all the updates and make sure you got a top tier security package installed. Apple is less vulnerable (though it has been taking some malware/virus heat in the past few years). Any of the Unix clones is pretty well protected.
I am not sure what measures the Wayback Machine uses to prevent their site from duplicating attacks when scraping the internet for its content. I will say I have never triggered a warning when I have used it. Good luck.
