Stripped back funk recommendations?

Hi everyone
I'm looking for stripped back/minimal funk song recommendations.
Songs where it kinda just repeats a lot and is not too elaborate/cluttered in instrumentation.
The best examples I can give is Manu Dibango - Soul Makosa and James Brown - The Big Payback.
Thanks!

I have a feeling that the drugs of choice for certain musicians dictated the busy-ness of their funk.
The Interns - Soul Drippins
The Peacemakers - Don't Push Your Luck
Caesar Frasier - Funk It Down
Larry Ellis & The Black Hammer - Funky Thing pts. 1&2
Body - Footsteps In teh Dark 45 on MCA.
The B side is the intrumental and I don't know how Ice Cube managed to get a clean lick, w/o the back up vocals whispering "footsteps," for "Today was a good day."
:hi:
He sampled the Isley's version.
