Whatever happened with the Soulstrut comp. Did it ever come to fruition? Who made the cut, who didn't? Who did the artwork? Is it even going to be produced? I must know, please shed some light. Raj, anyone?

The 12" taster for the comp has just been mastered. It features four tracks by A-ko, Dizzy and Hawkeye. Mike the 2600 does the artwork.

"so whats up with the upcoming record release? Tell us about that?

The compilation will be called Breakbeatraer. The title itself is another long running inside joke. Back in the message board's infancy, this French kid would randomly post a thread asking for users to tell him which records had drum breaks on them complete with broken English. He would demand sound clips of breakbeats fast and "raer". So over the years board regulars adopted the term "breakbeatraer." Expect a promotional 12" to be released at the end of the summer and the full length in the fall of 2005 on both vinyl and CD."

    Radd, nice interview Legend.

What do you mean "French"? is it just an example or does that dude exist?

    Bapt.

    PS/ Fuck a patriot

  • What do you mean "French"?

Le Toupt was his name. He came to us from France. Therefore, he was French.

Oh! Le "Toupt"... I've heard that word once.
It was on Myspace, a year ago or two...

Day left a message on my page, it was something like:
"What's good in Le Toupt, Bapt?"
Then I replied something like "What is Le Toupt? I don't understand."

Anyway, thanks for the -questionaskedtoanotherdudemorethanayearago- answer.

Hey, it's been awhile since the last time Le Toupt made his return. i think it was 3 years ago, maybe?

So out with it then. who was the strutter responsible for this hilarious alias? was it Dizzybull? Remember? He had an avatar of a bike in the rain and all of that.

The advance 12 is in the can and should be available shortly. Olski , Mike (and the artists) deserve a round of applause. I'm really excited and will hopefully have a plaque on my wall when it goes double magnesium.

I'm pretty sure it was The Hook Up that came up with that one. He was sad because he lost his red bicycle or something. And yeah, that shit was funny as hell. So classic.
