The Meters Rejuvenation - remaster Q

I think I need to mint up as the surface noise on my beat-up copy of Rejuvenation is a bit much for me and I noticed that there's a remastered CD that came out a while ago - I wondered if any of the fidelity headz (Leech, Thes, et al) have an opinion on this. Any improvement or a lot worse? Most remaster albums seem to get teh gas face.

Why hasn't this ever had a 12" pressing? (I'm now thinking of those West End/East End releases with edits/multi-tracking etc)
