Duet? Tribute? Craven attempt at credibility-by-association? Whatever you choose to call it, I actually cannot bring myself to listen to this. Am I missing anything, beyond the right to have an informed opinion? Or is this just the latest chapter in Drake's life-long mission to blow smoke up his own arse? Next to him, Lupe seems considered, thoughtful and modest.

It's telling that Aaliyah's family and the people most closely associated with her creative peak have quickly issued statements distancing themselves from it and emphasising the unofficial nature of the project.

    I'm never one to turn down a chance to add information to knee jerk hatred so gave it a listen through.

    Positives:

    Really lovely to hear Aaliyah's voice again
    Drake's involvement is an instantly forgettable couple of bars, no singing and definitely no actual duetting
    If they are planning to do a proper Aaliyah album and involve Timbaland etc it could at the least be interesting (though struggling to remember his last decent beat)

    Negatives

    Typical Drake style production (assume it's Noah Shebib?) that floats about without really doing anything of any interest. Underwhelming would be an understatement.
    It's fucking Drake.
