Last night my wife and I were stuffing our face with a plate of fried seafood at a hole in the wall on Bowen's Island SC and a dude randomly threw some change in the jukebox and played 'Earth Angel'....I forgot how much I love that song.

It's not rare, and it's not like it isn't really easy to hear...but it's an absolutely great record.

Any of y'all got any records that have the same sound/vibe/whatever?.....

NOTE: I'm talking about The Penguins version...not The Imitations...

The Eldorados have some excellent ballads...also check the comp "Chop Chop Boom" a collection of the United subsidiary label States...some uptempo sides, but mostly killer ballads

The Five Satins were pretty heavy on the ballads. You may want to investigate a good best-of on that group as well.

Their biggest hit was "In The Still Of The Night."

I totally know that song. I had no idea their name was 'The Five Satins'....what a great group name! I've noticed this genre has a ton of awesome and random names....like the thread starter...The Penguins....so awesome.
