Looks really great, but it's no documentary. Ulrich Seidl uses certain techniques of documentary filming and is working with amateur actors that's why his films sometimes could be confused.
Yes - the directors last film was also about the love trade, flick about female sex workers called import/export?
I'm not really interested in the film to tell you the truth - although I will say that older white females indulging in this kind of activity are likely to get a lot more slack than their male counterparts. Doesn't seem any more acceptable to me than old fat euro men hitting on young thai chicks.
He's taking on the issue with gusto - this is part one of a trilogy.
Lets hope he stays away from vinyl colonialism. Feelings could get hurt around here.
