I have a handful of 45s on this label that are total fire, but I've found there's definitely a lot of unlistenable crud too. Sound files on a lot of the titles seem to be quite hard to come by. What is recommended?

Here are the ones I can vouch for:
Orlando Marin "Wild-Fire"
Randy Carlos "Smoke", "Caraqueno", & "Whistling Mambo"
Monchito & His Mambo Royals "Pao Pao / Yo arriba"

Ok, can anyone forward this on to Waxidermy?

LOL but didn't you say mean things about them?

I think you have it pretty much covered from the ones I know of. Maybe Rey has some more. I pretty sure GV doesn't really like to Mambo and certainly not on 45. Check the Ramon Marquez on Youtube maybe?

If you like LPs, the Randy Carlos ones are good and cheap.

Say, did you guys know about the souped up version of Whistling Mambo? Came out on the MAG peruvian label. Also, thanks for the tips.
