    I still can't entirely get behind "jawn," because where I grew up, a jawn was like a snap, an insult.

    I use "jernt," with the occasional "jonx." Or, when it's time to get ill, "shit/s." Probably the single most cringeworthy thing I say with any regularity is, when talking about records or shoes or pretzel rods or capri pants or whatever, I'll sometimes say "them shits." That's some straight Ohio Valley hayseed stuff, right there. I'm not proud of it, but what can I do.

    I know dudes who say "junt," but I don't know where that shit's from.

    The other day a passer by stopped and asked me if I was from philly after overhearing me use the term jawn.

    I said no. He laughed and went on his way.

    True story.

    I use it very rarely, with a Minnesotan accent it doesn't sound right.
