some of my favourite soul strut threads have been food ones. i think the last one i posted was a hang over food thread. now it's the 'come home late at night and what you gonna eat/drink' thread.....not talking about going out to eat. what's in the house?

right now grilled cheese, tomato and wholegrain mustard with a tequila sunrise (only drink ingredients in my house)

    almond, wow, never?!

Never, ever. No one in my fam eats after dinner, so the concept of eating late at night is entirely foreign to me.

If I had to choose, I'd drink milk. Get a boost of protein and fat to quell the hunger, without having to brush or floss again. But if I were drunk, I'd probably lack the motivation.

i actually really do admire that. i was denied bad food in my youth, so it became a total novelty to me in later life.

  • A lil' somethin somethin I whipped up the other night:

tortilla, slice of cheese, morningstar chick patty, pasta sauce

    grill in a pan

  • my friend willy and i made the most ridiculous drunken meal a couple months ago...

    cous cous
    leftover taco beef
crushed up whole grain nacho chips
    avacados
    sriracha sauce
    sour creme

pile into pan and make pancakes with that shit.

we called it the 'uptown girl' after it's creators.... bill and joel.

neither of us remembered if it actually made it into the mix or not, but there was definitely smoked gouda out on the counter the next day.

Off topic, but I had a Guatamalan friend growing up who thought Billy Joel was duo until he was in high school.

Wasn't much in my fridge when I came home drunk the other night, so it became pickled jalapeno slices wrapped in cold corn tortillas...which actually did the trick.

    Whoa dude. This sounds amazing!

    Also:

Both bacon and pickles prevent hangovers.

discovered this little beauty at 3am,
    after stumbling home...

  • Sausages!

The wrap is made with potatoes. Called Lefse in Norwegian. I absolutely love it, and have been known to replace the sausage with slices of cheese, some ham and whatever oniony objects on hand and grilling it in the oven. Mmmm.

If I had to choose a desert island meal, I swear this combo would make the final three of the cut.
