The first one contains some seriously rare Afrobeat tracks. Most notably the unreleased version of Poly Rythmo's "ou c'est lui ou c'est moi" recorded from an acetate, the legendary Clusters 45 and a seemingly unknown Orlando Julius track. Orlando himself had forgotten what the record sounds like, I sent him an mp3 earlier this week.
This is a mix with Highlife from Benin City in Southern Nigeria (no relations to Benin the country). I'm getting more and more into this stuff, it's seriously funky...

is there any chance you will upload them to the usual server soon Frank?
Sorry, I didn't realize you'd need to sign up to listen to these... should be easy enough to do though.
I'll have these up for download in 4 days or so, together with that Nigerian Disco mix from last week. Just need to wait until some space gets freed up on my libsyn account...
is there a way to download these? do you need an account?
I'll have them up for download on my regular hosting site early next week. My account is maxed out right now, I get 250MB per month and they will free up again on Sunday...

Frank, what's the story on that Bonds Funk band! You and your ungooglable heat!

I've never heard of this band before until I got this record. It's on a small private label that I've also never come across before and miraculously it's in mint condition... I posted a cover scan in the September Finds thread: http://www.soulstrut.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/71361/P0/
Uchenna from Comb & Razor told me that they put out at least 2 LPs.
