I'll be there from WED to SAT .. not a lot of time, but any good record spins? recommended art shows? must-see film screenings? ya know the drill ... Thanks!

    It's kind of a quiet week/weekend. Depending on your preferences, these could not totally suck:

    Bilal is playing at Mezzanine in SF on Saturday with support from Rich Medina. Sade is playing the Oakland Arena on Friday/Saturday.

    As far as DJ stuff, tonight my friend Sake One is doing a Fania-themed night at his party, Pacific Standard Time at Eve. Tomorrow, DJ Stef does her monthly happy hour at the Knockout, which is fun and often attended by a strutter or two. Both are in SF.

    Homies are throwing a Tribute party for Joe Arroyo. These parties get WILD. If you don't like salsa music, this is not for you.
