peace SoulStrut, Im a lurker, turned recent new poster, l figured I'd introduce myself and build with like-minded people to talk shit about records and the lifestyle that goes with it
(I see from threads Ive read that there used to be a poster named "Dolo" who was a douchebag, safe to say that aint me, Im the original as far I know [been using the name since '95 when my cuzzo gave me the name])
Born in '76, Dad was into pysch and prog, Mom was into Motown and pop, so i was a loop-digger before I knew what that was cause Ive always liked little parts of songs and wished they could be looped, lol. Im a hiphop head, through and through, but production credits got me into diggin where stuff came from, so Ive been gettin dusty since 94.
Live in Orlando, raised all over the country, and lived in T.dot for a couple of years
My musical likes runs the gauntlet of genres, it just has to be dope. I'm a drum break guy, too, hahaha.
Just here to build and network.
Heres most of my stuff. My hiphop collectionis in the green/black Publix crates, Soul/Funk/Rock/Breaks/Jazz/Weird Novelty Ish in the Expedit and crates next to it.
EDIT: I'd pick Thriller over Off The Wall, cause that was the first cassette I ever got (that wasn't a audio storybook, turn-the- page-when-you-hear-the-glockenspiel-type joints).
but IMO, "Maria" off of Got To Be Here is his best song ever.
Here's a Mix i posted on the Strut

hello there david.
- spidey
Whats the deal with the Offthewall vs thriller?
Whats the story on that?
welcome man
you should fit right in
A long running Soulstrut debate that really comes down to Seawind vs. Toto.
Clearly Seawind was the better band, but Quincy killed it with bringing in John Landis for the thriller video (a master stroke move imo), and I'll give it to Steve Porcaro on Human Nature even though I feel Stevie's I can't help it is the superior outsider track.

Interesting life choice.
Well, welcome.....I guess.
Just kidding. Great post title, too.
Still cant find the OG
I ended up in toronto for about 3 years due to my dads work (that was mid 92 to mid 95), Im a Floridian by birth, and have moved back to this state like 5 times already, so I think Im supposed to stay here hahaha. Toronto was very dope to live in tho. I'd recommend it.
Ahh, Ill need to go back and give them a listen.
Word, thanks for the link man, Ima read that when I get a few minutes lol
Naw, Tone, death to the current regime of egg-capes. We are the next generation, lol.
Orlando > Beaverton, unless it's actual town of beavers, than that >> over all.
Oh me too.
