Welcome to the latest installment of the Happy Jazz Show sponsored by Gama Clothing .
Welcome to the August edition of the Happy Jazz show. More great music on offer which we hope accompanies some very good and much missed sunny weather. This month we feature music from all over the place with a healthy helping of Jazz & Jazz vocals, some Island boogie and some new & vintage Afro. Some Brazilian disco, a little Haiwaiian soul and even touching on some Chicago house.
The first hour is just a p*ss poor attempt at putting an hour of music together. There was no idea at what was getting played, freestylin' the yoot of today may term it, but in all honesty, I just bunged on whatever was nearest to me. Anyway, there is some decent jazz from Charlie Rouse to kick things off with additions from Paris Smith Quintet and Jackie Paris. A storming Jap Jazz Funk Fusion piece from Hiroshi Murakami plus vintage & new Afrobeats.

A typical summer vibe to this months show for the second hour as Mark includes tracks from breezy Hawaii. There is some Brazilian heat from Paulo Ramos, Marcos Resende, and on the new tip from A Bossa Eletrica. Plus a tribute to the great producer Fonce Mizell who passed away in July, and two tracks from house legend Larry Heard (one of which is a great new re-worked edit from Lexx).
