Braindead Dave passed away last week. My buddy Mike helped them close the store and have a party with procedes going to Dave's Son.

Right now Dave's 23 year old Ex girlfriend (they've been broken up for months). Is suing his family for control of all of the records. She has extremely wealthy parents who are demanding everything Dave owned.

The family is devastated and shocked and has no idea what to do.

Any thoughts?

I have a feeling that we would need way more info in order to have a useful response.

Saying. From the bare bones facts we have, there is absolutely no rational claim to that property on the part of the ex-girlfriend. There must be more going on.

Buy bulk tonnage of worthless records. Exchange them for what's in the store and ask girlfriend's parents to come and pick them up.

As a lawyer I advise them to laugh in her face. Absent a will stating otherwise, all property to son.

Dave has a Fee Simple Absolute in Record-acre.
