Posted a few times and realised I haven't said a formal hello...
Born Blackpool (NW coast of England), lived in London since '96.
As a yungun raised on motown, rock'n'roll and other assorted soul by Mum & Dad... First ventures into my own tastes was 'finding' Hendrix in a local record shop long since gone.. The guy always wore a Grateful Dead shirt and stunk the place up really bad.. Moved into UK punk in my mid teens, followed by US hardcore. Punk led to Reggae, Hip-Hop followed shortly after and from there on in it all came thick and fast.
Played in assorted swing/big bands on trumpet in my youth so always been involved in Jazz.
Took up guitar at 15, mainly sit playing bad front porch blues these days.. Almost chopping off the end of my left hand index finger hasn't helped much..
Not a major collector, can barely make ends meet.
Last major bunch of records was an assortment of 70's soul LP's off some guy selling his collection to pay medical bills.. I paid what he asked..
Last actual record purchased was another copy of the Fashion Records comp 'Great British MC's.'
Enjoyed reading many of the threads here, especially the digging stories. Hoping I'll have something to contribute..
