But answer songs were a staple in the 50s and 60s.
When I saw the thread the 2 songs that launched a thousand answers were I Can't Stand the Rain (OK, maybe just a few by the original artists, since I can't think of any answers by others, but it seems to me there are some....)
And Roxanne Roxanne, which launched 2 rappers named Roxanne and endless answer songs.
