Home Stereo Wireless Speaker recommendations?

Im thinking of tyring to spread the sound of music thru out the house (and into the yard over the summer) and, based on the layout or my house, wireless speakers will make the most sense.
I've herad that they are ALL TERRIBLE for reception and sound, but im willing to give it a try if the price is right .
Anyone ever have any luck (good or bad) with wireless speakers?
And im not talking digital/bluetooth Home Theater wirelss, this will be hooked up to a 70's Harmon Kardon receiever
