met him when i was hired to work on a live show in 97
he was absolutely one of the fastest brightest funniest minds i have ever encountered in the "industry"
i bumped into him 5 years later at a seminar and he remembered my name and the project we worked on and all the insanity of that evening in crisp detail
i was gobsmacked to say the least
i am not the world's biggest steely dan fan but i am the world's biggest fan of how those lps sounded he was the embodiment of gear slut and the exalted nerd king of audio fidelity
r.i .p to a legend and innovator
hard to believe a guy with all of that history and success can't pay his medical bills???wtf ?

I'm thinking the work he did with relation to nuclear operations might have possibly played some part in his pancreatic cancer?!

Wow, I'd somehow missed this name, but it's goddamn bonkers that one guy was responsible for that many now-commonplace studio techniques.
