oh brother... serious times square 1972 herion addiction nightmare. a scary record.
Fatback Band on Perception is nice
Julius Brockington is nice
Thanks...I was kinda puzzled, track wise they both almost have the same titles, the one with gatefold cover has nine trks while the other has have six, this has three preludes though, so they do look very much alike...

Sheeeeit. I saw that recently for cheap and passed. Did I fuck up?
THAT ONE.
you know that there is THREE records by that group.
that one.
the other one called " the albert " ( i actually do think that is the same one )
and some other one by them too...
unless i am TRIPPIN.
but i dont think so.
as for JC life it is a $15 record but it is creepy as draculas dong.
ok thanks, I only thought they had the two Albert s/t Perception albums
shirley horn - 'where are you going' is one to check for..
Naw, broham... two Alberts, PLP-4 and PLP-9. Two different albums (might have some of the same songs, I can't remember and don't feel like diggin' them out to find out). One of them is noticeably better than the other, but I think both are pretty damn a-ight. Unless I am trippin'.
Yes. A great album.
Other perception/today yummies:
I don't think those are Perception. Nice records, though.
They were, sort of. Today was a Perception subsidiary. Remember their slogan: "If it's on Perception, it's Today."
Other goodies:
- Madhouse
- Lucky Peterson
- The Fatback Band (how could we forget?)
- John Bartel
- King Harvest (okay, "Dancing In The Moonlight" is a serious guilty pleasure for me!)
You're right... I knew they weren't actually Perception, but I was thinking there was a connection there.
That's my schitt! Plus there's a braek on that album too.
this is a totally beautiful album
nice, havent seen this one before,... found this list http://www.freeform.org/music/Perception.html it doesnt look complete though...?
I had this for a while. A bit IMO.
A really mediocre soul LP made by children.
J5 & Reginald Milton are so much better, when it comes to young-uns making music.
As for Perception... How often does this pop up? Seen it once for sale,
and didn??t buy it.
after that... well
this ones dope imo, James Moody with members of the Albert group.
"Behind Every Good Man" is the kind of soul-jazz sandwich I like to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My first record on Perception:
I think I've had about 3 copies of that one.
there is a break on that ? what track ?
i've had that one sitting in my junk crates for years.
i think there are three records by the albert (or at least three different covers).
There are only 2 on Perception... if there's another on another label I guess that's possible, but I've never seen or heard of it. Alternate cover for one of them maybe? Could be... I'd like to see it if there is another one out there.
second
