i'll take this as a resounding 'no'.

  • I hear it's great. I haven't read anything except it's a very very very good album. I'm gonna buy it when i get the chance. I don't want to download this one.

Well, I copped it from iTunes this a.m., and I've been listening to it over breakfast. On first impressions, I think it's a really solid album and, considering it was supposed to come out nearly five years ago, the best of it sounds as good as anything I've heard during that time. There are a one or two so-so tracks, but overall the standard is impressively high.

I'd like to hear the beats for sure (didn't Just Blaze produce the whole thing?)...I was never all that into Saigon, though.

There's a few non-JB beats on there, along with a couple of co-productions (Kanye and Scram Jones, I think).

I haven't got a copy yet (the best buy near me isn't stocking) but it sounds promising.

OK, after listening to it for a couple of days now, this is a solid record. It sags a little bit towards the end, but the first two-thirds of it is great; strong, cohesive, well-paced and beautifully sequenced. I think it was always going to have trouble measuring up to the hype, even if it had come out when it was supposed to, but despite that I'm calling it a qualified success.
