"A lot of drunk LES kids must have been surprised to find Three Monkeys, their beloved late night bite spot, replaced by an empty, charred hole on the corner of Rivington and Ludlow. Steve Lewis walked past the site of what used to be Paul's Boutique..."

    this place was never actually the real pauls boutique.
    pauls boutique was actually across the street on the southeast corner, where spitzers now stands.
    in the 2000's a restaurant opened in the now burnt out space across the street and called itself pauls boutique. it closed, and an equally crap place called three monkeys opened there. now it's burned up.

    good riddance and good riddance to tourists and 18 month transplants on Ludlow looking up going OMG that's Paul's Boutique.

    haven't had a good look at the changes in the LES in four years.

    Sounds like NYC fell off hard years ago. I feel for you locals.

    i drove by that fire the other night trying to avoid bridge traffic on essex. i feel like i've seen a few fires on ludlow in the last couple months.
