the negril is a very dope record. '92 french pressing, wah?? i guess i got the JA on it.

in any case, no cedric brooks connection i can think of. but i'm out of town and don't have the record in front of me. not an 80's thing though kevin... i think it was from '75 or '76.

very chill stuff, as coffinjoe mentioned, got lots o' guitar moves 'cause believe it or not the featured guitar player is Mr. Eric Gale, jazz guitar aficionado. it's his gig. got sort of a fuzzed out psych vibe going, one or two tunes with some breaks, but overall very sludgy shit. Definitely worth $8 or whatever for a reissue or more $$ for an OG.

I picked this record up at A1 in NYC a few years ago for about $20 (the original pressing). I doubt it's worth much more than that. I think for folls who dig Light Of Saba this record will sound too light weight, as unfortunately there are some smooth jazz guitar moves mixed in with the mod jazz guitar moves mentioned earlier. However, there are definitely some nice moments spread liberally throughout the album. I will have to dig out my copy and check to see if Cedric Brooks did indeed play on it.

I think the Negril LP is good. Don't spend a lot of money on it, but definitely pick it up if you see it cheap. I think the UK pressing on Klik is easier to find and a bit cheaper than the OG.
