I used to do the NAMM show 10years ago with my drum business. It was so much fun to meet the whos who of the music biz and see the latest shit. If you get a chance to get tickets go and check it out
On a random day I remember Bernard Purdie came and played our drum kit for an hour, saw Bootsy Collins trying a bass on another stall, Had a chat to George Clinton, watched Grandmaster Flash do a set for Numark,Skratch Piklz at vestax,bought a theremin from Bob Moog, Took the piss out of Steve Ferrone and sold $10,000 worth of snares to a Japanese store. Good times
I was there... but mostly for meetings so I didn't spend too much time browsing the exhibit hall. I was hoping Rane would have some cool stuff, but when I went by they were just giving a demo of the dual Mic feature. Not really that interesting.
After this and CES the week before, I am convention'd out!
