Does anyone know what was used to make the percusive sound that comes in around :33 seconds when he starts saying "I want you". I am trying to recreate it for a track I'm working on. I believe the other drums are from an Oberheim DMX but I don't think the sound I'm refering to is from the Oberheim. Is it maybe a pitched-up 808 tom? If anyone knows or has any guesses I'd greatly appriciate it.

Damn I haven't been on Soulstrut in a long time. I miss this place.

  • That sound is actually Pharrell Williams' mouth, as shown at the 3:20 mark of this video

  • Sounds more like an 808 Clave than an 808 Tom to me...but probably neither
