The 11th Hour Social raises a glass to the New Year with live performers Keys n??? Krates and Loyal Divide alongside DJs Ghetto Division, Maker, DJ RTC and Merk 1 at Chicago Urban Arts Society, one of Chicago???s premier Art collectives / gallery spaces. Cold Grums Productions, Ground Lift Media, YM! and Chicago Urban Arts Society have joined forces to create a New Years Eve party on a mission to provide an inexpensive alternative to traditional end of the year celebrations.
11th Hour guests may enter the New Year already having done a good deed as a portion of proceeds will benefit Chicago Urban Arts Society???s Non Profit Organization. A limited amount of discounted tickets priced at $25 have been released to the public and can be purchased on ClubTix.net now.
The 11th Hour Social???s stylistic focus showcases buzz-worthy artists poised to ???break??? in 2011, and topping this list of on-the-verge talent is Toronto???s KEYS N KRATES. This three-piece, consisting of drums, keys and turntables, does nothing short of ???re-inventing the remix??? by combining live instrumentation, turntablism and live sampling to remix existing pop music and samples from MGMT to Jay-Z right before your eyes. With a year spent consistently touring with Metric and OK GO to remixing Drake???s ???Unforgettable,??? Keys n??? Krates??? return to Chicago should not be something to take lightly. In 2010, fellow 11th Hour live performers LOYAL DIVIDE found the internet embracing their single ???Vision Vision??? with video direction by the famed BBGUN. And their main stage performance at North Coast Music Festival solidified them as a Chicago band to watch, before they go national. Southside kings and Chicago trendsetters Rob Threezy, Rampage and MaddJazz of GHETTO DIVISION (Mad Decent) join MAKER (Stonesthrow, Now-Again), DJ RTC (Rubyhornet.com) and Merk 1 (Dirty30) on the 1s and 2s for the evening. Hosting duties handled by Constance K., Ms. Chicago and John Emmanuel Campbell, while Hey! Clich??! provides live visuals. Rounding out the bill as Master of Ceremonies is the Chicago MC, and 1/3 of The Gent$, Ill Legit.
New Year???s Eve may often mean expensive debauchery, and while we condone the unbridled celebration, The 11th Hour Social is by far the most classy, least expensive event for forward-thinking Hip-hop, Electronic, & House music fans. 18+ to enter, 21+ to take advantage of the hosted beer option & champagne toast, both which are included in the ticket price. Inexpensive cash bar options are also available for suggested donations, ID required!
The Chicago Urban Art Society (CUAS) is an emerging art-centric non-profit organization based in the Pilsen community. CUAS is a multi-use art and creative center that promotes the works of contemporary emerging, mid-career and established artists and cultural leaders. Through exhibitions, innovative teaching and learning opportunities, and non-traditional venue space, CUAS is by nature cross-platform and establishes its credibility through creative juxtapositions. Founders Lauren M. Pacheco and artist Peter Kepha owned and operated 32nd&urban;: gallery/space in the Bridgeport community between 2006-2008.
