That was interesting. Music by Don Sebesky.

  • The edits are tight! Also, I never really saw what Jim Henson looked like young-ish.

and one of Rudy Van Gelder's only film credits.

I love watching this; one of those films that tosses so many new -- or at least then-new -- and playful ideas at viewers, with a surprisingly high success rate. Similar to HAUSU / HOUSE in that respect, actually.

  • Very cool, and I like the credit at the end for Frank Oznowicz, aka Frank Oz.

  • Thanks for posting that. I'd seen an edited down version of it at the Science Fiction Museum (part of the EMP in Seattle) as part of an exhibit for Jim Henson's work. Dude is a creative BEAST!

Here's a couple of other videos of some of his work; these are commercials:

    LA CHOY

    IDEAL TOYS

    WILKINS COFFEE

You can see more of a sinister / dark humor side of Henson in a portion of the Ideal Toys ad; the Wilkins Coffee campaign is pretty much based on it.

The first couple of Seasons of SNL his "proto-muppets" were dark and funny at the same time.
