Amir Bar-Lev's documentary on this guy is dropping in the Bay this weekend I think. Bar-Lev was on NPR yesterday talking about the doc, and about Tillman and I was pretty blown away by his backstory.

Tillman has been discussed on here before (http://www.soulstrut.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/28690/).

Whatever you may feel about dude's politics or whatever, you gotta respect that he gave up an NFL contract to stay in the Army! Seriously, who does that? In today's money/fame-obsessed culture? I cram to understand. It's probably the single most mindboggling thing I've heard about this guy.

I remember when dude's ASU squad beat us in 1996 and clinched the Rose Bowl.

Has anyone seen the movie?

  • I've watched him since college at ASU. Lifetime overachiever: Played linebacker in college at 5'11" 210 lbs, then barely got drafted in the nfl in the 7th round. He ended u starting for the cardinals his rookie year at safety. He's one of those players that wasnt athletic but had great instincts, and a big hitter. A fan favorite on all the teams he's been on.

I'd love to see this movie.
