A Tucson man was arrested on suspicion of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

Roberto Vicente Bejarano, 23, was arrested by Tucson police Tuesday morning at the Ott YMCA, 401 S. Prudence Road, where he had gone to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl he had met via a Craigslist ad seeking a girl interested in "no strings attached" sex, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Pima County Superior Court.

Instead, Bejarano had been e-mailing and texting with an undercover detective from the Tucson Police Department's Crimes Against Children section, according to the affidavit.

The detective went onto Craigslist on Aug. 12 and found Bejarano's ad, and after answering it saying he was a 14-year-old girl, got an e-mail response asking about the girl's sexual history, the affidavit said.

Bejarano, who called himself "Vinny," and the detective continued to exchange e-mails and texts over several days, discussing what sexual acts they'd participate in and places and times to meet, the affidavit said.

The detective arranged to have Bejarano go to Ott YMCA to have "sexual fun," telling him the girl would pretend to be sick to stay home from school and meet him, the affidavit said.

When Bejarano was arrested he had condoms and lubricant in his pockets, and admitted to police that had a 14-year-old girl shown up they would have had sexual contact, the affidavit said. He was booked into the Pima County jail.
