How do locked threads work?

I mean, is there no ghost bump possible?

I get that a lot of these shit show threads run their course, but at the same time... I want someone to remind me of the genius of a "Serious Moral Dilemma," in a year or two.

Do these "locks," expire after a time, or are we stuck waving goodbye upon the whim of moderator?

    They don't expire but if it's been a few months or whatever, just request an unlock.
