Klaus Doldinger "Sitar Beat"

i never get sick of the sitar solo by denny dias (former slovenly housegues of a certain strutter) in "do it again" by steely dan...
Dave Pike - Mathar
101 Strings - Karma sitar
Can't think of any others that similarly :face_melt:
DivShare File - 08 Luz De Invierno.mp3
"Games People Play," Joe South
"You Are Everything," Stylistics
(the Coral electric sitar...gotta love it, although I'm sure several Indian music purists probably didn't)
(Czech the sweet vibes at 2:40)
:feelin_it:
Like that one and also the other on that record ("Blues for the Guru" if I remember correctly) but I was never quite sure if this is a real sitar playing or just some (fretless?) guitar emulating the sitar sound. Anyone who's more into string instruments can tell?
not mentioned yet, but also nice:
and the OKKO LP is pretty cool

and " Dancing Drums" . You play those back to back in a set and you better be ready to keep folks shakin their asses hard for a while to come.... fire.
Dave Pike - Mathar (facemelter)
A couple years back my housemates and I threw a massive house-party that ended up stretching way into the night. Around two or three some people were feeling the booze snooze, sitting down and chilling out. I was outside smoking when I hear the music stopping (it was a playlist on my computer). I ran back inside to sort stuff out, hit "play" on the keyboard and the first song that came on was "Dancing Drums".
The place fucking erupted! Not a single person was standing still or sitting down. A table, two chairs and a wooden crocodile were all broken during the frenzy, but that doesn't really matter. Great times!
All my favourites have already been posted, so I'll take it back to the basics and roll with this:
