why can't PaylPal do real time linking with a persons checking account? like you are ONLY allowed to bid if you have the funds to do so...

all too often the winner of something says "sorry i can't afford it" like dude YOU bid that much...

    It wouldn't work because a lot of people use paypal with their credit cards, not their checking accounts.

    I suppose they could set up some tiered system of limits so you could only charge x amount based on your finances and your history with paypal, but my hunch is that privacy laws prevent paypal from getting access to someone's financial situation.

    i guess if someone links it to their credit card the company knows their limit though right?

    Giving Paypal more access to your shit has far reaching consequences that greatly outweigh the convenience of weeding out deadbeats.
