I haven't followed closely but I think getting up to speed with the other industrialized countries will be a good thing. It obviously has done us no favors with the current arrangement.

I do have some fear of becoming like some of the European countries, though - I think France's unemployment hovers around 10% permanently. That would be like how we are now, all the time.

An update from my oracles of all things political, my in-laws, who are Reagan/Obama democrats. They are now saying that health care should be like a public utility, non-profit and universal. Things are looking good.
